4th Street in Guadalupe
Pavement rehabilitation on this short segment of 4th Street between Obispo Street and the West end occurred during the Summer of 2017. This street is heavily trafficked by trucks and employees from the Apio vegetable production facility. It took significant coordination with Apio and required the construction of temporary access on Obispo Street. Before completion, there was a large section on the south side of the road with no curb and gutter. Also, the roadway was in such bad condition that trucks were getting stuck in potholes that reached over a foot deep during the rainy season. Public Works crews had to use pumps to remove the standing water from the area. Curb and gutter, commercial driveway approaches, and an additional drainage inlet were constructed to remedy the drainage issues.
